In the section of Journalism 2 that I’m teaching at Marist College this semester, I turned today into a Lincoln-Steffens-at-the-Commercial-Advertiser-esque experiment in group reporting. When my students got to class, I sent them off across campus to capture a snapshot (both in words and literally) of what was happening over the course of about a half-hour span today. Here are their results:
- Luis Alicea on Graduate and Adult Enrollment
- Alyssa Pallotti and Lindsey Klein on the front desk at the School of Communication and the Arts
- Michael Kurtz on proselytizing for Public Praxis
- Brian Creagh on an impromptu study group
- Pat Pagano on an unexpected cold snap
- Caitlin Goettler visits the print shop
- Dan Scofield and Ana Jean Healy on just what goes on inside that little building on the front lawn
- Janae Myers on the IT department’s lunch break
- Katherine Wetzler on senior capstone projects winding down
